Bayblend® MTR is an extruded thermoplastic sheet product that complies with flammability and smoke emission requirements for transit materials as established by the US Federal Transit Administration. It meets Docket 90-A flammability requirements, and fulfills the criteria defined in the Bombardier Transportation Standard SMP 800-C for Toxic Gas Generation. With superior mechanical properties such as rigidity, strength, and impact resistance, its low specific gravity, along with its increased rigidity, allows for down-gauging and overall weight reduction and material savings. Bayblend® MTR is resistant to damage by typical cleaning chemicals, and can be laminated with protective and decorative films.

Bayblend® MTR is extremely fabrication-friendly, and thermoforms with faster cycle times than most comparable materials. It is ideal for thermoformed interior and exterior rail parts such as structural seating components, wall cladding, window reveals, ceiling panels, and car bumpers. Adding to the functionality of Bayblend® MTR, after forming it can be easily decorated with standard paints to provide a high gloss finish, and is available in multiple textures and colors for increased rail interior design flexibility.
